Entrepreneurs attend Afroca Innovation Summit based on their contribution to a website discussion forum on entrepreneurship.
As part of an idea competition, eight African entrepreneurs have been selected to take part in the Open Innovation Africa Summit which will be taking place on November 29th in Nairobi, Kenya.
The eight participants were chosen to attend the Summit based on their engaging contributions to a website discussion forum. The Open Innovation Africa summit created a website especially for entrepreneurs to discuss entrepreneurship in Africa – participants in the forum addressed questions on it’s importance, current challenges, and the need for positive change.
The website is essentially a platform for techies, entrepreneurs and experts to interact, share ideas and create new innovations. Top ideas and noteworthy comments posted on the website are to be discussed during the summit.
The forum will bring together 200 participants to discuss ways of developing new technologies in Africa. The summit will focus on the topics of mobile services revolution, ecosystem for innovation, emerging market business models and education for all. The purpose of the forum is to foster the creation of new innovation services.
The forum has been organised by mobile phone supplier Nokia , infoDev a World Bank grant program and Capgemini, a global consulting, technology and outsourcing firm.
During the two day forum participants will engage on ways to boost entrepreneurship in new technologies that will support sustainable businesses.
Although the idea competition for participation at the summit has been closed, entrepreneurs are encouraged to continue sharing ideas and posting comments on the Africa Summit website that are likely to influence discussions during the forum.
