TANZANIA – Entrepreneurs in Tanzania can apply for an opportunity to take part in an eight months training programme.
The training programme dubbed the Business Diagnostic Programme (BDP) is targeting small and informal businesses that are seeking to grow and become profitable in the near future.
To participate, entrepreneurs should have a business start up that has been in operation for at least one year. The business should be in sectors such as agriculture and processing, manufacturing, tourism or the services industry.
Participants will attend workshops and receive business training and counseling from experts. This is expected to transform their business start ups into profitable enterprises.
Participating entrepreneurs will also receive grants of up to TZS 1.2 million (US dollars798) each if they successfully implement the skills learnt during the workshops.
To enter the BDP training programme, you can download entry forms here. Applications should be submitted before February11, 2011.
For enquiries and more information on participation you can write to the Project Implementation Office at BDGinfo@tpsftz.org or call +255 (0) 787 254 226
This training programme is organized by the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) through its Business Development Gateway Programme (BDG).
The TPSF was established in 1998 to support private sector led initiatives. The foundation runs the BDG programme with the support of the Tanzania Government. The programme was introduced in 2008 and will run until 2012.
The programme hopes to foster entrepreneurship in the country by supporting SMEs through offering training and financial assistance.
