13 African Entrepreneurs Reach Global Competition Finals

Thirteen African entrepreneurs are taking part in the final stage of a global competition and stand to win a six-week mentorship program.
The 13 participants are among 45 social entrepreneurs from across the globes, who have qualified to take part in the last round of the Unreasonable Entrepreneurs Global Competition.  The finalists were selected after presenting viable ventures that are financially sustainable. At the end of the competition, 25 entrepreneurs will emerge winners.
To win, the entrepreneurs need your vote.  The competition winners will be announced in April after public voting and donations on the most viable ventures.  To vote for the finalists click here.
The selected winners will become Unreasonable Fellows and take part in the mentoring program at the Unreasonable Institute in the US. At the institute, the entrepreneurs will undergo training and attend workshops which will improve their skills on entrepreneurship.
More than 60 mentors drawn from diverse sectors will offer mentorship to the entrepreneurs. They will interact with successful entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders. Winners will also pitch their ventures to investors, venture capital fund managers and other potential financiers.
Some of the African finalists in the competition include Kenya’s Evans Wadongo  who has invented solar lanterns ,  Cameroon’s Tambe Harry who has developed an automated SMS alert service for farmers  and  Uganda’s Moses Sanga who provides affordable clean energy .
The Unreasonable Institute was established in 2010 to offer mentorship to early stage entrepreneurs.
At Africa Report we wish all the finalists the best of luck!
