Mobile Entrepreneurs Training in Ghana

Technology entrepreneurs in Ghana are undergoing one month training on mobile technology and business. Upon completion of the training, entrepreneurs will have knowledge of how to use technology and business skills to start new mobile services and grow their start-ups into successful business entities.
The on-going training currently in capital Accra is part of the Mobile Entrepreneurs in Africa Project, an initiative that seeks to train entrepreneurs to take advantage of mobile and web technologies.
The entrepreneurs are being trained on aspects such as SMS and voice applications, mobile web and user interaction. They will also be trained on mobile business, covering areas like writing business plans and how to grow a mobile business company.
After the training which kicked off on 24th February 2011 and will run through to 19th March 2011, the entrepreneurs will continue receiving follow up mentoring and support in developing their project ideas.
The training program funded by Web Foundation, a non-profit organisation and Vodafone Group, a mobile network operator, began in 2010 and is expected to run through to 2012.
The Mobile Entrepreneurs in Africa Project plans to establish mobile training labs across the continent with the first in Ghana. The labs will offer entrepreneurs a platform to come up with new innovations and   start sustainable businesses.
