Mobile giant Nokia is partnering with the Junior Achievement (JA), a non- profit organisation in Ghana to give students an opportunity to nurture their entrepreneurial dreams.
The global initiative dubbed Enterprise without Borders (EwB) allows students to set up businesses and take part in cross border business via the internet. So far, more then 200 students from Ghana have taken part in the program with several of them successfully establishing business enterprises. Ghana and Kenya are the only two African countries currently taking part in the program.
Egypt and South Africa are among other African countries that are expected to join the EwB initiative in a few weeks time. The platform will soon be available as a mobile application to allow more African students take part in the program. The initiative is open to students aged between 15 to 18 years.
The purpose of the imitative is to encourage high school students to pursue entrepreneurship by offering them support such as mentoring and an opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues from across the globe. The initiative links students from Africa, Middle East, Europe and the United States of America.
Through its online entrepreneur matchmaking, students post their company profiles and also view companies of their colleagues overseas. The purpose is for students to form partnerships, help each other sell their goods and services in different markets and exchange ideas on entrepreneurship.
Students will be mentored and taught skills in calculating productivity, reading financial statements research, interpreting data, teamwork and technology amongst other key business skills.

Hi Kelvin
If you are hardworking this is an essential quality to have, I would suggest that you research as much as you can. Read articles on entrepreneurship and business, speak to as many business people as you can find and to your teachers at school. The more initiative you show the more results and insight you will gain. It is not always about having a good idea, it is more about finding something you are capable of and sticking to it. Take any opportunities you can to apply for scholarships at Entrepreneurial Universities and institutes and start working towards their requirements.
