Small, Medium or Micro Enterprise (SMME) Awards 2011

Owners of small businesses from all sectors can enter for the 2011 small, medium or micro enterprise (SMME) awards. The most outstanding business will be issued the overall award for the SMME of the Year.
Outstanding small businesses and entrepreneurs in Africa will be awarded in October at a gala awards evening in South Africa. The business awards that seeks to honor small business has several categories for entry such as the Trade Sector Award, Most Innovative Sector Award, Young Enterprise Sector Award, Service Sector Award and the Best New Business Sector Award.
To be eligible your business should have achieved sustainable growth and demonstrated positive contribution to economic growth.
Your business should be independent (not a branch of another business), be a resident and registered in Africa and should have been operational for at least two years. It should employ less than 200 people and have an annual turnover of between R40 000 and R10 million (US dollars 5,952 to 1,488,115).

The winners will be awarded on October 13th 2011. The award has been organised by Africagrowth Institute, a South Africa based company which focuses on growth opportunities in Africa.
