Search Is On for Outstanding Entrepreneurs

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship has started the search and selection process for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2012. The competition is aimed at outstanding entrepreneurs across the globe and is open to all regions of Sub-Saharan Africa.
In their search for the new Social Entrepreneur of the year, the Schwab Foundation are looking for entrepreneurs who show incredible innovation in businesses that display sustainability, implement social impact over a large range and are potentially a facsimile.
Are you an entrepreneur who has influenced social change by reconstructing conservative ways of business and implementing social conditions to your initiative in order for it to become sustainable? Candidates should be working together with underprivileged or marginalised benefactors and investors on an entity that has expanded beyond itself to other environments either due to the entrepreneur or others who have reformed aspects of it. The concept of the initiative should be adaptable internationally to resolve related issues.
Winners will be awarded the opportunity to take part in the World Economic Forum 2012 in Africa where they will be granted full access and coverage by significant media and press. Attending the forum will allow winners the chance to meet business frontrunners, important politicians and public figures of the region. All costs will be covered for Social Entrepreneur winners, who will thereafter be granted public consulting services and scholarships to professional courses at prominent institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stanford University and INSEAD.
Winners will also undergo consideration for inclusion in the social network of entrepreneurs in the Schwab Foundation, or if under the age of 40 the prospect of nomination to the Young Global Leaders (YGL) network of the World Economic Forum.
Applications should be in by 15th October 2011 and you can find out more on the following link http://www.schwabfoundseoy.org/en/competitions/competition/125 or contact info@schwabfound.org for more information.
