Are You Looking for Opportunity?

Youths aged below 30 who have developed innovative ideas to improve the lives of their communities can register for the World Summit Youth Awards 2011.
The competition is open to youths from United Nations member states who have used Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools such as mobile and web developments to address and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
The Millennium Development Goals seek to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal primary education, promote gender equality and empower women, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases, ensure environmental sustainability and develop a global partnership for development.
The purpose of the competition is to demonstrate young people’s contribution to achieving the MDG goals by creating outstanding digital contents.
The competition has six categories namely; Create your Culture, Education for All, Fight Poverty, Go Green, Hunger and Disease, Power 2 Women and Pursue Truth. Winners will be selected based on how innovative their idea is, design, sustainability, its action on reaching an MDG goal and how it engages the users.
A judging panel made up of International ICT experts will select three winners and two runners-up for each category.  The selected winners will be flown to the WSYA 2011 winners’ events in Skopje, Macedonia where they will make presentations on a global stage and get to interact and network with international ICT and MDG experts, Government representatives, media and other youths.
Interested applicants can submit their applications through the website www.youthaward.org before 15th July 2011.For more details and instructions about the application process click here http://www.youthaward.org/en_register.html
