Are you a dynamic entrepreneur with innovative plans and ideas? This year will see Tanzania hold its very first Entrepreneur of the Year’s Awards aimed at celebrating excellence and achievement in business and entrepreneurs.
The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce together with the The East Africa Speakers Bureau (EASB), Ernst & Young and a number of other organisations have collaborated to present the Tanzania entrepreneur of the year awards (TEYA) to reward and bring merit to entrepreneurs across a diverse range of commerce sectors.
The awards are important to Tanzania as their first event that will promote and encourage entrepreneurial ideals in the country, along with local commerce and industry. It is aimed at finding and celebrating individuals who have been able to bring innovation to the market through entrepreneurship. The event will seek to focus on businessmen and women who have overcome certain entrepreneurial challenges and transformed them into prospects and opportunities for the future.
Entrepreneurs who are awarded will benefit from the awards through exclusive media coverage and the opportunity for an editorial profile. They will gain the opportunity for exposure and networking at the gala event. They will stand the chance to present themselves and their work at the event, together with a multimedia presentation prepared for them. They will gain access to various events and business forums throughout the year and receive a one year business consultancy from Ernst & Young. They will also gain access to various funding opportunities for growth, development and the expansion of their business.
Tanzania honours this event as pivotal to encouraging and promoting growth in their own economy and industries that contribute to development within the country. Through recognition this event hopes to inspire current and future entrepreneurs to continue to grow in their endeavours.
Application for Nomination opened on the 29th March 2011 and closes Friday, 30th July 2011. The official Dinner Gala and Award Presentations will be held in November 2011.
