Southern Africa’s entrepreneurial masters are being recognised for their achievements

The finalists for the Southern Africa Chapter of the World Entrepreneur Awards have been announced.
The global business world might be going through a slow down but that hasn’t stopped a handful of local entrepreneurs from kick-starting their businesses and reaching their goals. Ernst & Young has noticed these young entrepreneurs and has selected them to participate in their prestigious Southern Africa Chapter of the World Entrepreneur Awards in partnership with First National Bank.
According to Zanele Xaba, the Country Leader for the Southern African Chapter of the World Entrepreneurial Awards, entrepreneurs play a vital role in the business world because they create jobs and fuel economic activity. “The most common barrier to future growth is the lack of funding. It is vital that entrepreneurs are supported and acknowledged for the critical role they play in creating societal benefits. They need more support as they can lead economic recovery.”
The finalists in this year’s awards are:
Master Entrepreneur category:
• Louis Norval – Attfund Ltd
• Rael Levitt – Auction Alliance
• Prakash Devchand – Lenmed Investments Ltd
• Braam van Huyssteen – Tekkie Town
Emerging Entrepreneur category:
• Elmien Scholtz – Bio Sculpture SA
• Cheryl Nesbitt – Capsicum Culinary Studio
• Marshall Dlamini – Eyethu
• Mario Gebert – Fine Foods
