The Investing in African Mining Indaba takes place at Cape Town’s International Convention Centre between 6-9 February 2012. The event offers a highly personalised, industry-specific meeting between global business and African mining.
The conference aims to provide new information about one of South Africa’s most important industries; mining. The indaba will share knowledge and understanding about all facets of the industry while providing exhibiting companies with a solid footing to build partnerships in the industry.
Delegates and guests include professionals in the mining sector such as analysts, investment specialists, corporate mining companies, as well as government representation in the form of ministers and policymakers. Attendance of the Mining Indaba is exclusively limited to those in the industry, so it is not open to the general public. The benefit of this approach is a highly specialised transfer of knowledge between industry professionals, making the 2012 South African Mining Indaba the premier event of its kind.
The agenda will include keynote speeches from the World Bank Group as well as discussion topics such as exploration trends in Africa, the global commodity market, the various metals being mined (from key minerals such as gold, diamonds, platinum and iron ore to the smaller minor metals), corporate white papers, and company presentations used to convince investors about the importance and scope of mining not only in South Africa, but also the world.
As the premier event of its kind, the Investing in African Mining Indaba will explore the possibilities of mining-led growth on a continent that is brimming with resources and growth potential in this sector.
