These 7 simple steps will take your business to the top.
To grow your business you need to make sure you’re on top of every aspect of the company. Here are some guidelines to keep you on target.
Step #1 – Move and Shake
To keep growing in business you need to keep moving and stay motivated. Set goals for where you want the business to be in three to five years and develop a strategy to get there.
Step #2 – Motivate your Employees
Reward your employees for good work and try to motivate those who under-perform. Your employees should feel that they are valuable to your business and that their effort is not only needed, but appreciated.
Step #3 – Manage your Finances
As soon as your business starts earning a profit, settle your debts and pay back your bank loans. Keep a regular check on your cashflow to make sure you stay on top of your finances.
Step #4 – Be attentive to your customers
Make a note of your regular customers and get regular feedback from them. Ask for their opinions and suggestions before making changes to your product/service. This will not only influence customer loyalty but ensure word of mouth marketing, which is a valuable advertising network.
Step #5 – Eye out the competition
Keep a check on the competition in your industry. Have an indication of their prices or special offers so that you stay in the loop. This will keep you competitive and enable you to explain price differences to your customers.
Step #6 – Don’t go into the Red
As much as you can, try to avoid getting yourself into bad debt. Be swift to chase up debtors and make sure invoices are sent out on time with clear payment details. If a customer is experiencing cashflow problems you could suggest a payment plan. It’s better to sort out something than allow it to become a problem.
Step #7 – Stay Smart
Don’t get carried away by a profitable year. Stay money wise rather than spending all your profits in one holiday. To stay successful you need to keep maintaining control of your costs.
