Growth and survival are synonymous in business. Without growth, competitors adapt fast and can overtake you. Here are 5 tips to inject some rapid growth into your company.

1. Delegate: You’re the boss. Train your team to meet your goals. You can’t be everywhere all the time. Delegating lets you work on the bigger issues. We’re not talking about installing a workplace Gestapo, just allocating tasks to middle managers.
2. Social networking: Everyone is using social media. Facebook and Twitter catapult your brand into the global community. Use them to run marketing campaigns and interact with your customers in digital space.
3. New products: Times change and customers get more choosy. Adapt your product offering or fall by the wayside when a competitor develops that killer product.
4. Let your customers work for you: Word of mouth advertising is a smart way to sell products or services. Many companies offer ‘refer reward’ programmes. If you refer a friend to them, you’ll receive a reward. It’s a bonus all round.
5. Don’t be a local: Growth is seldom based on location. Thanks to the Internet, the simple addition of a shop section on your website can attract international orders. Act local, but think global.
Competitors quickly enter the market, so start laying the foundations now. A few simple steps and your business should start expanding in no time.
