Marcel Karam adds value to business at Bungalow’s

Marcel Karam started a business in an industry he knew nothing about. This entrepreneur took a risk, and it paid off.  He is owner of a successful restaurant.
Starting a business can sometimes mean ‘sticking your neck out’ in order get where you want to be. Although taking a risk is not easy, in the case of Marcel Karam, it was well worth it. This entrepreneur was a former employee in the IT industry and boldly made the change to working as a restaurateur. Inspired by his cultural cuisine, he started Bungalows, an innovative restaurant in Lagos which blends culinary concepts from the East and West.
When Marcel began Bungalow’s he was a new comer to the hospitality trade. With no knowledge whatsoever of food, service, kitchens and bars Marcel found learning the ins and outs of running a restaurant a difficult adjustment. But with a strong sense of where he was headed, Marcel firmly found his feet and managed to train himself in the industry ‘know-how’. Years later, Marcel is now a well-rehearsed professional in his business of choice.
At Bungalows, Marcel offers a unique experience in Nigeria, which is part of his innovative business concept. Bungalow’s is the first restaurant of its kind in Lagos to offer Eastern Cuisine. From Marcel’s Tepanayaki lounge patrons can enjoy the spectacle of watching expert sushi chefs prepare authentic Japanese food.
But Marcel’s secret to success in his business has been constantly improving and imagining new prospects for the business. When Marcel noticed a lull in his restaurant during the afternoons, he decided to add Bunbeanos coffee café to entice patrons to look to Bungalows for all their service needs. This expansion into the marketplace attracted new customers to the business as well as satisfied his regular clientele. If Marcel doesn’t have what you’re looking for at Bungalow’s, you can be sure he’ll get into it.
Bungalow’s is an all-encompassing entertainment restaurant which offers a sports bar, a coffee café as well as cuisine from Italian pizza to Japanese sushi. There is no stopping this entrepreneur who plans to grow the business to incorporate a nightclub as well. As a successful entrepreneur, who forged a business in an entirely new field, Marcel Karam is one happy man.
