South Africa: Woodex for Africa 2012

From 22 to 24 March 2012, industry professionals in the global lumber trade will converge on the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg for the WoodEX For Africa conference and expo.
This is the first time WoodEX For Africa is being held in South Africa, and it aims to provide suppliers, manufacturers and retail enterprises with a platform to debate, discuss, and showcase all products and services in the wood industry.
The focus of Woodex will be on all aspects of the lumber trade within South Africa as well as its timber partners, from the milling of raw timber all the way through to its finished products. There will be ample space on the exhibition floor for service and product providers to display their wares, as well as providing delegates and other visitors with information on the products and services that they are offering within the lumber trade. Lumber is a massive business within South Africa and provides jobs for tens of thousands of people, not to mention contributing a significant portion of imports and exports on a global level.
The agenda will include specialised seminars with guest speakers and industry leaders who will share their knowledge on the lumber industry, live-action lumber clinics, and more than 150 exhibitors, as well as four “tracks” or themes that will run concurrently over the three days. Delegates select which track they would like to follow and they will then be split into four sections accordingly. The tracks are as follows: Industry and Trade, where experts will talk about new developments, products and technical advancements in the trade, as well as “going green” within the business; Business and Marketing, where business leaders will make presentations regarding the industry as a money-making concern; Action-based Workshops for Skills Development, where delegates will get hands-on experience of products and demonstrations; and Specialised Seminars and AGMs, where trade associations will host seminars regarding their various sectors and is open to organisational participation only.
WoodEX For Africa 2012 offers a specialised meeting point for those who wish to maximise their leverage in the globally competitive lumber industry.
