It is 6am and Andries van der Westhuizen has been preparing the morning feed since the crack of dawn. In a short amount of time, his trout farm has grown from humble beginnings to commercial success.

Not that he minds the daily workout in this pretty little corner of the Western Cape.

Siaka Doumbia started small and now has it all. Shea butter production in Mali has rapidly expanded, and with a little bit of international funding, export potential has never been better.
The global Shea butter industry is thriving, and a small co-operative in Mali has been at the heart of this growth. Production has more than quadrupled since Helvetas project co-ordinator Siaka Doumbia began farming the exclusive skincare product, and international exports have become a cornerstone of the business.

For his latest book, he’s unveiled his plans for the future. No, it’s not another Virgin spin-off… In Screw Business As Usual, the business mogul talks about forgetting profits and money to rather focus on their clients and customers, people around them and the world itself. No entrepreneur or businessperson starts a business with the aim of running it for a year or two and then being shut down because it cannot function. Businesspeople start businesses to make money, because they’ve spotted a gap in the market and have had the opportunity to take it.
